Hybrid and Multi-Cloud

A Hybrid Cloud is a computing environment that combines an on-premises datacenter (also called a private cloud) with a public cloud, allowing data and applications to be shared between them. A Hybrid Cloud becomes a Multi-Cloud when more than one on-premises datacenter combined with a public cloud comes into play. 

Cloud Convergence

Similar to the standard definition of convergence in cloud computing (the action of combining two or more functions into a single unit) SentientDB’s definition of Cloud Convergence is slightly different. We define Cloud Convergence as the action of combining multiple clouds and database platforms into one unified, coherent cloud and database platform. 

Management Fabric

A management fabric is the process of managing all of the different parts that form a singular entity. In relation to SentientDB this term is synonymous with framework and platform. 

Data Mobility

Data Mobility is the process of moving large amounts of data seamlessly through hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Database Platform as a Service (DBPaas)

Similar to all of the other types of “aas” definitions DBPaaS stands for Database Platform as a Service.

Infrastructure Agnostic

The term agnostic in IT refers to the freedom a company has when they are not locked in to a single cloud vendor and do not rely on a single companies proprietary service. SentientDB allows for an agnostic hybrid and multi cloud experience freeing many consumers of their lock in partnerships. Plug-and-Play

A system is plug-and-play when the consumer does not have to make any adjustments to their current structure to allow for a new solution to be installed. It only takes a few hours to implement SentientDB into your environment. Once installed, SentientDB is ready to begin DB migrations whenever your transformation plan calls for it. If servers do not exist, SentientDB will create them in your target cloud environment.
